One of my sayings is that “you need to be at the table to make decisions. And once you are there, make sure you are qualified to make them.” To that end, I have been in governance roles since I was a young person, including representation at community, national and international levels. My goal is always to give a voice to those who are not heard with a strong belief in tikanga – the right way to do things.
